Family Travel Guide to Oglebay, West Virginia
One of my favorite states to road trip to is West Virginia. It’s an easy drive from Ohio and offers a lot of different experiences in terms of things to do and the landscape. I’ve previously posted about how to spend a weekend in the Dolly Sods area, and now after two trips to this area I can confidently say everyone needs to add Oglebay Resort and the Mountain State to their bucket list. Oglebay Resort is located in Wheeling, WV, just over the border of Ohio. The drive from Cleveland was under three hours. We actually spent time here last summer enjoying their outdoor pool which has a huge splash…

Two Days of Adventures in Springfield, Ohio
Peaceful horseback riding, scenic kayaking, live music, mouthwatering food, scenic parks and clean, comfortable accommodations… Did you know all of these things can be found in Springfield, Ohio? Exploring different regions of Ohio is one of my favorite things to do (if that wasn’t made obvious by my account), so I was really excited when I got the opportunity to work with Ohio.Find It Here. and Springfield CVB to explore an area I haven’t been able to spend much time — southwest Ohio – specifically the greater Springfield area. My friend and I had never been to this part of the state before, so he was just as excited as…

A Romantic Weekend Getaway in Hocking Hills
While my husband and I love trips out-of-state, the past few years we’ve found a lot of joy in small weekend getaways to places within the state of Ohio. Especially with two kids at home, it’s nice to be able to drive somewhere only a few hours away while the grandparents babysit. We both really wanted to visit Hocking Hills as it’s been a few years since either of us had been there, so I was thrilled when Ohio. Find It Here. and Hocking Hills Tourism Association reached out to work together. If you’re looking for a romantic getaway with your partner with epic hiking views, delicious food and other…

Explore the Ledges of Northeast Ohio
Have you ever heard of the ledges before? A unique landmark scattered throughout northeast Ohio, these rocks are remnants from millions of years ago when Ohio was an ancient ocean. The formations were carved and broken when fast-moving waters cut through the sandstone as they emptied into the inland sea that was once Ohio. Pretty cool, right? Add these ledges to your bucket list of adventures this year and explore the ledges of northeast Ohio! The Ritchie Ledges Likely the most notable and popular due to its location within Cuyahoga Valley National Park, this area feels otherworldly. The trail around The Ledges is 1.8 miles and connects to a larger…

Hiking South Lake Tahoe in Three Days
If you’re anything like me, when it comes to planning a hiking trip I am determined to always get in as many miles as possible at each location. It can be tricky to plan, though, especially when you’ve never been to a certain area and are solely relying on guide books and websites to show you the way. And when you’re trip involves mountains, maps can be deceiving and make things appear closer than they are. When my husband and I planned our California excursion, South Lake Tahoe was the first (and shortest) destination of our trip. I had no idea what to expect, I just knew I wanted to…
