If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know we have been loving road trips lately! With two small kids, road trips are so much easier, and there are tons of really cool places for us to visit within a three hour driving distance from Cleveland. The other weekend we made a road trip to Pittsburgh, PA. Just under two and a half hour drive, Pittsburgh was the perfect place to spend a weekend with the kids. Kid-Friendly Things to do in Columbus

My family and I had the opportunity to explore the city of Columbus and I was so pleasantly surprised by all the kid-friendly activities there is to do in the city. Columbus definitely flies under the radar, which is great because you can have a really enjoyable weekend trip here without spending tons of money. Where We Stayed We were really fortunate to be hosted at Hotel Leveque for the weekend. This hotel is architecturally stunning to walk through, with beautiful décor in every direction. We both really wanted to visit Hocking Hills as it’s been a few years since either of us had been there, so I was thrilled when Ohio. We created Getaway to create a counterbalance to the noise created by our cities, technology, and work. By disconnecting and recharging in a beautiful tiny cabin nestled in nature, my…

It can be tricky to plan, though, especially when you’ve never been to a certain area and are solely relying on guide books and websites to show you the way. And when you’re trip involves mountains, maps can be deceiving and make things appear closer than they are. When my husband and I planned our California excursion, South Lake Tahoe was the first (and shortest) destination of our trip. I had no idea what to expect, I just knew I wanted to…
